Vera Guilaroff (1902-76), ragtime piano player and composer.
She was sometimes called "The Princess of the Radio". She began her career as an accompanist for silent films at Montréal's Regent Theatre on Avenue du Parc at Laurier. She performed for the first remote broadcast in 1923 for Montréal's XWA (later CFCF) Radio.
