Souvenirs made from Cuban wood


Cuba is also a land of art and handicrafts.


Masks made from royal palm, jupito and mahogany.
No stains were used to create the different colours of the wood in each piece. They simply represent changes in the trees' rate of growth.

Head and thorax: Cuban mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni)
Eyes: Holywood (Guaiacum sanctum)
Abdomen and legs: Black sapote (Diospyros digyna)
Wings: Brasiletto (Caesalpinia violacea)
