Discovery

Marie-Victorin evoked the emotion experienced by a botanist who discovers a new species:
Telling yourself: I am the first man ever to examine this feat of Nature and share it with others! ... is really something!

Here we see Brother L?on collecting the type (reference specimen) of a new species of palm, Coccothrinax, which he baptized Victorini in honour of his colleague.

The distinction was reported in Le Devoir newspaper, back in Montr?al!
