Founded in 1967, the American Bonsai Society is the pioneering national bonsai organization for North America, including Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The society purpose is to promote knowledge of and interest in bonsai and to serve as a focal point for bonsai learning in North America. They provide a variety of educational and support services, which are announced on the website. The quarterly Bonsai Journal is published for the bonsai community and some previous articles are online. The website includes many lists and various information on bonsai: an exhaustive list of North American bonsai clubs, a registrar of stolen bonsai trees, a list of bonsai material suppliers, an interesting list of links, etc.
