Information Resources for School Projects
Students and teachers from all levels benefit from many resources at the Montréal Botanical Garden, including diverse educational activities and visits of the greenhouses and gardens. A visit to the library of the Montréal Botanical Garden may also be fruitful.
School projects in botany and natural sciences
The Library of the Montréal Botanical Garden has collections in natural sciences, particularly in botany and in ecology, from
an educational level to a more scientific or specialized literature.
The collections of the Botany Library of the Université de Montréal,
located on the third floor of the Marie-Victorin Building of the Botanical Garden (Administration Building)
are complementary to those of the Montréal Botanical Garden Library. Its holdings are included in the Atrium Catalogue
of the Université de Montréal.
These collections are more oriented towards the university-level interests of botany and plant ecology.

The Montréal Botanical Garden is an international institution with one million visitors annually. Many documents deal with the history
of the Montréal Botanical Garden and the life of its founder Brother Marie-Victorin. Reports on marketing,
exhibitions and activities of the Botanical Garden are also on the shelves of our library.
The Green Pages include many documents and bibliographies allowing a key-word search, for college and university students .
The Web site of the Montréal Botanical Garden is the best and most complete information source
on activities of the Botanical Garden. The Mailbox may help you locate

School projects in landscape architecture, ornamental horticulture and agricultural sciences
The library has developed general-public collections in gardening and specialized collections in
horticulture and landscape architecture offering a large choice of information sources for students of DEP, DEC and university programs.
The Green Pages is a virtual library selecting many articles published by the Montréal Botanical Garden
and selected bibliographies.
School projects in medicinal plants
Collections of many hundreds books on medicinal plants and their uses throughout the world are unique to the library of the Montréal Botanical Garden.

- The Library is unable to provide reference information through mail, fax or telephone. Visitors are asked to consult documentation on-site according to the opening hours of the library.
- The Horticultural information desk may answer specific horticultural requests.
- Information requests received through e-mail are answered according to the Web site e-mail policy, availability of resources and scope of the reference question.

- During your visit, we will ask you to be as precise as possible regarding to your subject and what kind of information you are looking for. If you have the scientific (Latin) names of the plants, this will help us to help you.
- Please, plan to have enough change to use our photocopier.
- Interlibrary loans are allowed. Read carefully the conditions (in French).
