The Entrance Courtyard

Surrounded by high walls, the Entrance Courtyard is a place of transition, a tiny garden unto itself. The walls of the courtyard are set with thirteen windows offering glimpses outside the garden. Each window is unique, in terms of either its shape or its latticework.

The Mural
The mural on the left-hand wall features crested cranes, a symbol of longevity and hapiness. They are flying across the seas, bearing a message of friendship from China, to dance in the shade of the maples in Canada.

The Moon-shaped door
This round door interrups the uniformity of the restangular courtyard and draws the eye to Dream Lake Garden, beyond. Its moon shape symbolizes perfection, familiy unity and abundance.
