The Society of the Chinese Garden of Montreal

Created in 1991 as a non-profit organization, the Chinese Garden Society will celebrate this year its twentieth anniversary. Throughout this period, the Society has made available a variety of services to its members and friends in addition to actively supporting the activities of the Chinese Garden.

The promotional brochure provides more detail on our mission and our activities and will hopefully encourage you to join our membership. It is simply a matter of completing the form contained in the brochure and send it by mail.

With the active support and guidance of the Society, a number of interactive workshops have been created at the Chinese Garden to bring to life various aspects of Chinese culture and engage visitors in such activities as calligraphy, Chinese paper cutting, Chinese tea ceremony and exotic tea tasting. In addition, visitors enjoy Chinese erhu musical performances and witness Chinese artisans at work. Noteworthy also are the Asian Music and Dance Festival in July and the spectacular Magic of Lanterns in September and October.

Twenty years is an important step in the evolution of any organization and in the case of the Chinese Garden this anniversary will be marked with special programming for the enjoyment of its members and friends. This programming will be unveiled at the General Meeting of the Society on March 24 at 7:00 PM at the Botanical Garden. Join us and enjoy the benefits membership brings.

Society members enjoy free admission to the Montreal Botanical Garden including the greenhouses and the world famous Insectarium as well as other priviledges.
