Roses are pruned to rejuvenate the stems and to give to the shrubs a balanced appearance. A good pruning diminishes risks of fungal diseases in letting the air and the light go through
the plant, then the importance of pruning the stems over a bud pointing towards the outside. This way, the center of the shrub is not too dense.
