The Art Deco administration building, designed by architect Lucien F. Kérouack, was built in two phases, from 1932 to 1938.
It is adorned with frescoes and bas-reliefs depicting Amerindians' traditional way of life and the use of plants in the early days of the colony.
This key example of Montréal's architectural heritage underwent a facelift in 1995, retaining its unique style and original decorative details.
