Five ecological groups show the combinations of trees typical to Québec's forested areas
- forest groups that extend from Québec's southern border to the edge of the tundra.
The hickory and sugar maple grove is typical of the Montréal region.
The Laurentian maple grove represents the Beauce and Québec City regions with its sugar maples, beeches and American lindens.
The yellow birch and maple grove evokes the leafy woodlands in the cooler areas of the Eastern Townships and the Laurentian Mountains.
Conifers are represented by a white spruce grove and a pine grove made up of red, white and jack pines.
These stands of native trees are located next to the Japanese Garden, alongside the Chinese Garden and the ponds.
This site has become the First Nations Garden.
