Ferns Conservatory

Ferns date back more than 350 million years. Today they grow almost everywhere on the globe, provided they have sufficient water and shade. Ferns are flowerless plants that reproduce by means of spores.

In the Tropical Ferns Conservatory, ferns can be seen growing from man-made rocks, and a closer look will reveal traces of fossils carved into the stone.

A waterfall adds a musical note and offers a home for some water ferns, alongside arborescent, herbaceous and even epiphytic varieties.

This conservatory, which features other primitive plants, takes visitors back through time.
