The Exhibition Greenhouses
All year round, the greenhouses are home to permanent and thematic exhibitions highlighting seasonal plants and flowers.
In winter, their splendors help us forget the frigid temperatures outside; in summer, they overflow with luxuriant tropical vegetation, while penjings, dwarfed trees from China, lend an exotic touch.
Each greenhouse has a specific theme to carry visitors off to a different part of the globe.
The greenhouses, first opened in 1958, cover an area of 4,000 m2.
The 36,000 plants they comprise represent a total number of 12,000 species, varieties and cultivars.
Entrance for the Exhibition Greenhouses is through the Reception Centre, located behind the Administration Building.
An impressive series of production and collection greenhouses, not accessible to the public, is associated to these conservatories.
