Butterflies Go Free
(Main Exhibition Greenhouse and the Ferns Greenhouse)

The scientific evidence is undeniable: moths evolved first, then butterflies. Other than the fact that they’re active at different times, how can you tell them apart? Come talk to our nature interpreters and admire over 2,000 butterflies and moths flitting about in the two Botanical Garden greenhouses (the Main Exhibition Greenhouse and the Ferns Greenhouse), and find out!

February 25 to March 11, 2012, Wednesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
March 17 to April 1, 2012, Weekends, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bring the family and enjoy some fun maple-theme activities and sample some tasty treats.
Weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., maple products and maple taffy ($)
(cancelled in case of bad weather)

Birdwatching and cross-country skiing
Outdoor gardens, all winter long
An 18 km trail through the Botanical Garden and Maisonneuve Park (no off-trail skiing or snowshoeing).

Temporary exhibition featuring a collection of twelve impressive sculptures by Taiwanese artist Ju Ming. One of these huge bronze pieces, from his Taichi series, may be seen outside the Reception Center.
