Christmas Delights
All Aglow for Christmas at the Montréal Botanical Garden
From December 5, 2003 to January 4, 2004
Take a break from the holiday rush and come relax in the magical Christmas atmosphere at
the Montréal Botanical Garden. It’s a veritable feast for the senses, where you can enjoy the sweet fragrances and splendid festive
finery in the Main Exhibition Greenhouse, along with Christmas carols sure to delight visitors young and old.
The Garden’s experts have created a fairyland decor full of gorgeous poinsettias, cyclamens, ferns and Norfolk pines. Wreaths,
sprays, Christmas trees, ribbons and chandeliers made from different plants will all brighten up your visit. In addition, on
Saturday, December 6, 13 and 20, from 1 to 4 p.m., don’t miss the Christmas carols sung by the Choeur laurentien in the Main
Exhibition Greenhouse.
And on Sunday, December 21, some forty members of the choir will be presenting an outdoor Christmas concert.
Visitors can enjoy this all-new show, free of charge, at the entrance to the Botanical Garden Reception Centre, at 3, 4 and 5 p.m.
Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served in exchange for a freewill offering.
In the other nine greenhouses, visitors can inhale the delicate scent of orchids, delight in a taste of the
tropics as they wander through the palms and banana trees or soak up the desert atmosphere among the cacti. The Garden's penjing
collection of miniature Chinese trees is always a source of amazement, too.
