The Montréal Botanical Garden is the place to visit in any season. The Montréal Botanical Garden, located just minutes from downtown Montréal, right near the Biodôme and Olympic Park, offers a world of colors and fragrances for visitors to enjoy.

Ranked as one of the largest of its kind in the world, the Montréal Botanical Garden is a veritable living museum of plants from the four corners of the Earth.

  Length of Montréal Botanical Garden tour

The tour lengths (on your own) are approximate. Plan for:

  • Greenhouses: 1 hour
  • Outdoor gardens: 1 to 4 hours
  • Insectarium: 30 min. to 1 hour

The Montréal Botanical Garden is located at the corner of Pie-IX et Sherbrooke Streets, near the Olympic Stadium and Pie-IX metro station.

The Montréal Botanical Garden will be closed every Monday from November 2, 2009 to May 14, 2010.

  Parking


The Montréal Botanical Garden offers visitors two parking lots totalling 700 spaces:

  • 4101, rue Sherbrooke Est, one traffic light east of Pie-IX.
  • Maisonneuve Park, near the Insectarium, 4581, rue Sherbrooke Est, one traffic light west of Viau (between Pie-IX and Viau).

Please note that parking payment stations are in operation in the Montréal Botanical Garden and Insectarium parking lots. Fees are as follows:

  • $5 first hour
  • $10 full day
  • $5 evenings, after 6 p.m.

  Rates (Entrance Fees)

The Botanical Garden and the Insectarium are located on the same grounds. Admission provides access to both attractions. During the summer, included in the entrance fee, is an animated mini-train which runs through the site.

A special rate is proposed to groups. Groups must be composed of at least 15 people older than 2 years old. One complimentary ticket for each group of 21 paying visitors (21st free).

Wheelchair The Botanical Garden is accessible to visitors in wheelchairs. The person accompanying the handicapped person receives free admission to the site.

Admission prices are in Canadian dollars, all taxes included. Free for children under 2.

Payment can be in cash, by credit card VISA, MASTER CARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS or INTERAC. No other mode of payment is accepted.

Only groups of 15 people and more, having made a reservation, may pay by check made payable to the "Ville de Montréal".

* High season is defined between May 15 to November 1, 2009 inclusive.

  Rules

When visiting, please note:

  • Dogs and other pets are not allowed on Garden property, with the exception of guide dogs and fostered Mira dogs. The latter are allowed only on the access road, however.
  • Bicycles, skateboards, scooters and in-line skates are prohibited.
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times, and bathing suits are not acceptable.
  • No one may pick any plants, seeds, fruit or vegetables.
