Canadian Carnivorous Plant Society

scapi/ccps

An association dedicated to carnivorous plant lovers
whose objective is to discover the fascinating world of these strange plants!

Byblis liniflora The world of insectivorous plants is both mysterious and fascinating. During the course of their evolution, they have developed remarkable capacities to attract, capture and digest living insects. This is largely due to the extreme poverty of the environment in which they grow. Their prey supplies them with nutrients necessary for healthy growth.

The aim of the Canadian Carnivorous Plant Society is to gather carnivorous plant lovers from across Canada in order to exchange : Dionae muscipula

The society will publish an annual journal and a listing of dealers and members wishing to trade plants. The society will organize conferences, workshops and will participate in exhibitions with the aim of promoting a better understanding of these plants, and the protection of indigenous species and habitats which will always remain an important issue for our society.

Sarracenia purpurea CCPS/SCAPI is a non-profit organization for which the collection of annual dues will help us further our goals of educating and bringing together interested individuals.
