? I am the youngest of six children, of which two grew up on Leclaire and Hochelaga. As the times dictated, my father worked and my mother was a "stay at home" mom. On one income, my parents were not able to provide all the "luxuries" that children today seem to take for granted. Fortunately for us, my father's love of nature and photography took us to places that provided hours, days, weeks and years of adventure, entertainment and quality family time. Thankfully my father instilled in us the need to regard all "living things" as a gift from God, to be treated with care and respect.

One of these such places which offered a wonderful view into the treasures of nature was and still is the Botanical Garden. With my camera in hand, I anxiously await the grey heron to emerge from the hiding place in the tall reeds along the water's edge. The chickadees mesmerize me with their swift movements and cheerful songs. I welcome the changing seasons in the Garden, each offering another peak into the fascinating world of nature.

My father passed away on October 28, 2002. I feel most connected to him in nature. One place where childhood memories abound and fill my heart to overflowing is the Botanical Garden, a gift I discovered because of my father's love of nature... his love for me. ?
