Shearith Israel/Spanish and Portuguese congregation synagogue.
Founded in 1777 and first established on a plot of land on Rue Notre-Dame and donated by Montréal Jewish resident David David, the Shearith Israel/Spanish and Portuguese congregation was the first synagogue established in Canada. The congregation occupied this building on Rue Chenneville from 1835 to 1890. Photo from a 1918 publication issued by the synagogue.
