Peter Redpath.
Portrait of Peter Redpath by Robert Harris (1821-1894).
Redpath was a Canadian philanthropist who worked for his family's sugar refinery and other firms in the region. He was a member of the Board of Governors for McGill University, where he created the Chair of Natural Philosophy in 1871. He also founded the Redpath Museum and provided funding for the Redpath Library.
