Garden of Innovations

Now a Garden of Innovations

Hundreds of new cultivars arrive on the market every year, a veritable flood of leaves and petals in every shape and hue.

The Botanical Garden's horticulturists carefully examine each year's catalogues and select some 150 cultivars, based on their availability and looks. Then these annuals, perennials and shrubs are showcased in the Garden of Innovations.

What's "hot" this year in gardening? Take a stroll through this living and constantly changing catalogue and see for yourself.

A beauty contest

Even the loveliest plants need to be displayed properly to show them in their best light. Start with a carefully selected variety of plants with harmonious shapes and colours, add an original design and a painstaking arrangement of rocks, paving stones, wood and other materials - and voilà!
