Winter garb

The Botanical Garden's Rose Garden is one of the world's most northerly.

How do we do it? In winter, some of the borders are covered with polyethylene foam blankets. The temperature beneath the covers never drops below -4°C. With the proper protection, our fragile hybrid teas and floribundas sleep comfortably through Quebec's harsh winters.
