The First Nations Garden was created in 2001 in a part of the site previously known as the "Ecological Groups". These groups were planted in the late 1930s, showing the combinations of
trees typical to Quebec's forested areas extending from its southern border to the edge of the tundra. The mature trees already growing here provided a framework for the First Nations Garden, a perfect setting in which to display this new jewel.
