In the 2000s, Felicitas Svejda wrote and collected a number of documents to a produce a summary of her hybridization work on roses and other shrubs. This summary also includes all roses commercialized after her retirement from the Experimental Farm in Ottawa.
Subseries JBM 10, S5, SS6 includes a document entitled Canadian Explorer Roses that gathers essential data on 25 roses of the Explorer series. Going through the document, we see that all the rose bushes do not bear the name of an explorer. This is the case of roses 'AC Marie -Victorin', 'De Montarville'and 'William Booth'. These exceptions occurred after money being donated to bend the rules in naming. Mrs. Svejda has also recorded the information on the origin of names in the subseries JBM 10, S5, SS4 that can be viewed below.
