Public Observing Sessions for
the Transit of Venus

Don't miss this historic rendezvous! In many areas, amateur astronomers will be setting up telescopes in the late afternoon and evening of June 5, and will host public observing sessions: why not join them on this very special occasion. The following information was supplied by the groups involved and is subject to change without notice.

Please note that, in case of poor weather, observation of the transit will be impossible, and these events may be cancelled; however, some organizers will offer alternative activities.

Except where mentioned otherwise, the following observing sessions will end at sunset.

The activites are listed according to administrative region. Times are given in Eastern Daylight Time.

To be able to observe Venus and the Sun safely, special glasses will be handed out on the site.
