The virtual exhibition Jacques Rousseau: Natural Landscapes and Native People of Northern Quebec and Other Countries includes some papers in the series 2 and all documents from the series 3 in the Jacques Rousseau Collection.

Scope and content:
Collection on the activities of Jacques Rousseau, through its various trips for his research on the flora.

Includes various anthropological information, including the relationship between men and plants, geography, botany, and members of some First Nations of Quebec (including Mistissini Cree, here called Mistassini) and Inuit Kuururjuaq River (then known as Korok River ).

This collection contains the following series: S1 - IXth International Botanical Congress, S2 - Publications, S3 - Photographs.

Finding-aid: The identification of some indigenous communities has been made by Mr. Willie Emudluk (Kangiqsualujjuaq) in the winter of 2004 and photocopies of the persons identified in some series in the collection are compiled in a report prepared by Celine Arseneault, Montréal Botanical Garden Library.

Sub-series on a canoe trip undertaken in summer 1946 in northern Quebec, from the head of the George River to Ungava Bay. It shows the living conditions of native people and many subarctic landscapes. Four (4) pictures are from Jacques Rousseau and his son Francis upon their return.
