This view, looking northwest from the Biodôme, shows the site of the future Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. When the camera is online, new images are updated once every minute, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week. The present image shows that the exterior of the building is essentially complete, and that the landscaping is also progressing well. Most activity is now occuring inside the building; the project is scheduled for completion in January 2013, with the grand opening next spring.

For comparison purposes, the view below, taken in early July, shows the inital state of the site, before prep work had begun; only the security fences had been put up.
