Single Occupancy | $142 CDN | |
Double Occupancy | $142 CDN |
A limited number of rooms has been reserved at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel for the IPS 2000 Conference. The Queen Elizabeth Hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Montréal, a short walk from the Planétarium de Montréal.
Since most of the activities of the IPS 2000 Conference will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, substantial rebates have been offered for the use of the meeting rooms provided that the lot of rooms reserved for IPS members is used. Reserving a room at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel will help the Local Organizing Committee and your colleagues in making the IPS 2000 Conference an even more successful event.
Cancellations / Refunds
A deposit of $142 in Canadian funds is required, which will be credited to your room account and will guarantee your reservation until midnight on the date of your arrival. The deadline for reserving a hotel room through O'Donoughue & Associates is June 5, 2000. We cannot guarantee room availability after June 5, 2000. Deposits for rooms cancelled within 72 hours of check-in are not refundable.
Alternative Budget Accomodations
For those interested in participating in the IPS 2000 Conference on a very limited budget, we suggest renting a room in the student residences at Université de Montréal, 2350, boul. Édouard-Montpetit, Montréal QC H3T 1J4, Canada. E-mail: bouchpa@magellan.umontreal.ca
Rooms are usually available during summertime. Please note that these rooms do not have air conditioning and that the bathrooms must be shared among several residents. The student residences of Université de Montréal are 30 minutes away from the Queen Elizabeth Hotel by Métro (subway).
Transportation / Local Information
Montréal is served by two major airports. Dorval International Airport is located on the Montréal Island about 20 minutes from Downtown Montréal and is used for all regular airline flights. Cab fare is $25 CDN. An express shuttle bus service will drop you off at the Aérobus Station, only three minutes away from the Hotel by foot: fare is $11 CDN one-way.
Charter flights are handled at Mirabel International Airport, located north of Montréal. Allow one hour by bus or cab to reach Downtown Montréal. One-way shuttle bus fare is $18 CDN; cab fare is approximately $55 CDN.
For those considering traveling by train (Via Rail and Amtrak), note that the Queen Elizabeth Hotel is adjacent to Montréal's Central Station.
The best way to travel throughout Montréal is the Métro (subway). It allows you to reach quickly, easily, and cheaply the main points of interest in Montréal. A car will be useless during the IPS 2000 Conference since every scheduled activity will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel or nearby. Parking is available at the Hotel for a fee.
