First City Hall

It was under the leadership of Édouard Gohier, Saint-Laurent's first mayor, that in 1912, Municipal Council inaugurated its first City Hall. This stone building, located at 1380-90 de l'Église street, also housed a police station and a fire station.

This building was however demolished in 1964 to make way for today's municipal library, and a new bigger and more functional City Hall, was erected at 777 Laurentien boulevard (today's Marcel-Laurin boulevard). The new building was inaugurated in 1958 and proudly bore the City's coat of arms. The building has since been expanded in response to the growing needs of the municipal administration.
